Mike Show hit a two-run double in the bottom of the 11th inning as Wilkes completed a comeback to defeat cross-town rival King’s 16-15 on Friday.
Show also pitched the final three innings to earn the win on the mound in the game. Show was 3-for-5 with three doubles and five RBI in the game. Connor Morgan went 4-for-7 with three RBI.
Chase Yochem hit a solo home run to left field to lead off the top of the 11th inning to put King’s ahead 15-14. Zach Day was 4-for-5 with five RBI and Wil Hronich was 4-for-6 with three RBI.
Misericordia 8, Kean 7
Derrick Vosburg drove in four runs, including the game-winner, to lead Misericordia to a come-from-behind extra-inning win at Kean.
Jason Sanfilippo had four hits and Vosburg and Garrett McIlhenney had three hits each.
TRACK AND FIELD
King’s at Susquehanna
Carnell Kemp led the Monarchs with a third-place finish in the shot put at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna.
Also earning top-10 finishes for King’s were Brandy Varner (seventh, shot put) and Anna Bellucci (ninth, hammer throw).
HIGH SCHOOLS
BASEBALL
Pittston Area 19, Wyoming Seminary 9
Anthony Ranieli finished 4-for-4 with four RBI and a pair of stolen bases as Pittston Area hammered out 16 hits in a six-inning victory.
Dominic Innamorati added three hits and drove in two runs while Nick Cerasaro and Vincenzo Bonomo (triple) each finished with three RBI. Jeremy Cawley had two doubles and two RBI.
Antek Evan went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI for the Blue Knights. Michael Vodzak also drove in two runs while Matthew Spera was 2-for-4 with a double.
Berwick 9, Holy Cross 6
Colton Rinehimer doubled and drove in four runs as Berwick rallied to defeat visiting Holy Cross.
Matt Lonczynski added a double and three RBI. Alex Peters had two RBI without an at-bat.
Rinehimer pitched the final 3.1 inning, striking out five and surrendering two hits, to pick up the win.
Josh Lintkowski doubled and knocked in two runs for Holy Cross.
Dallas 6, Jim Thorpe 1
Jude Nocito drove in two runs as Dallas defeated Jim Thorpe in a non-conference matchup.
MMI Prep 10, Mahanoy Area 4
MMI Prep had just two hits, but benefited from eight walks and two hit batsmen to defeat Mahanoy Area.
Pitchers John Drobnack and Heath Williams combined to strike out 12.
SOFTBALL
Holy Redeemer 2, Crestwood 0
Anne Carter pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts as Holy Redeemer defeated Crestwood.
Abby Williams had a double and single for Redeemer. Carter and Payton Parker each had an RBI.
Allyson Babula and Victoria Butler each had a single for Crestwood.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Berwick 3, Notre Dame GP 0
Berwick defeated Notre Dame Green Pond 25-12, 25-18, 25-11.
For Berwick, Jayden Charles had four aces, 26 service points and six digs. Blaze Croop had four aces, 11 service points,two blocks, eight kills and five digs. Jackson Matash had two aces, seven service points, four kills, and 28 assists. Brock Seely had 10 kills and seven digs.
