Nanticoke Area jumped out quickly and then had to hold off a seventh-inning rally by Northwest for a 9-7 victory in high school softball Monday.
The Trojanettes led 7-0 after two innings. The lead was 9-2 entering the seventh.
Emily Eisenhauer had a double and three RBI for Nanticoke Area. Kelsey Clark doubled and knocked in a run. Cecily Johnson and Shaylee Heffron each had two hits and scored three times.
Charleigh Miner had a double and three RBI for Northwest. Taite Gunther had two RBI and Jordin Bowman had a triple.
Crestwood 14, Hanover Area 3
Crestwood scored 11 runs in the first inning to take control and eventually end the game in five innings.
Kayla Wisniewski led the offense with a double and three RBI. Victoria Butler homered and had two RBI. Olivia Mitchell had a double and three RBI. Jorja Snyder and Jayla Lomerson each had a double.
Ava Malacarne doubled and had two RBI for Hanover Area. Caitlin Vigorito also had a double.
BASEBALL
Crestwood 6, Hanover Area 4
Crestwood scored six runs over the final four innings to defeat Hanover Area.
Nick Schiel had three RBI for Hanover Area.
VOLLEYBALL
Berwick 3, Lake-Lehman 0
Berwick won its fourth in a row with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-12 victory over Lake-Lehman.
For Berwick, Blaze Croop had eight aces, 15 service points, eight kills and 12 digs. Jayden Powell had nine kills and two blocks. Jayden Charles had two aces and 12 service points. Josh Kishbach had 10 digs. Ethan Esquilin had five kills.
Hazleton Area 3, Nanticoke Area 0
The Cougars swept Nanticoke Area 25-21, 25-11, 25-22.
Scott Bersavage posted 16 service points, three aces and nine digs for Hazleton Area. Jose Oquendo had 24 assists, four service points, an ace, two digs, a block and two kills. Logan Aikens recorded six kills, four blocks, four digs and four service points.
BOYS LACROSSE
Scranton Prep 20, North Pocono 6
Liam Barrett scored three goals and assisted three more for Scranton Prep.
Brady Holmes and Grady Toolan added three goals each. Will McGrath had four assists.
Riley Moore scored four goals for North Pocono.
Dallas 17, Holy Redeemer 7
Anderson Leo had four goals and four assists as Dallas defeated Holy Redeemer.
Other Mountaineers posting multiple points were Noah Greco (2 g, 3 a), Andrew Machulsky (2 g, 1 a), Jack Fluery (2 g, 1 a), LJ Long (2 g) and Cole Johnston (2 g).
Wyoming Seminary 16, Wilkes-Barre Area 1
Jack Herron scored six times and added three assists for Seminary.
Matt Swartz had four goals and three assists for the Blue Knights. Xavier Bealuc had three goals and two assists. Thomas Iskra scored three times.
Joey Egidio had WBA’s only goal.
Abington Heights 12, Wyoming Area 9
Austin Boersma and Gavin Anders each scored for goals for Abington Heights.
Ben Byers had three goals and two assists for Wyoming Area. Joe Marranca had three goals and TJ Kearns scored two. Aiden Hoiser had a goal and an assist.
