Jack Herron and Matt Swartz had a combined 13 goals as Wyoming Seminary blew past Lakeland for a 22-4 victory in Wyoming Valley Conference 2 boys lacrosse action on Monday.

Herron scored eight goals and added a pair of assists, while Swartz scored five goals and assisted on three more. Xavier Beaulac had a team-high four assists to go along with his two goals. Seminary’s Gabe DeLuna reached a milestone with his 200th faceoff win.

Lakeland had four players score a goal apiece: Luke Witko, Gavin Roberts, Ethan Roberts and Jordan Case.

Wyoming Area 13, Wilkes-Barre Area 3

TJ Kearns led the way with five goals and two assists as Wyoming Area rolled past Wilkes-Barre Area.

Kearns was one of five different Warriors to score. Ben Byers had a hat trick and added three assists, and Joe Marranca scored twice. Bryce Harry made seven saves for Wyoming Area.

Wilkes-Barre Area was led by Jack Snappe with two goals.

Scranton Prep 10, Lake-Lehman 3

Six different Cavaliers scored as Scranton Prep jumped out quickly in a victory over Lake-Lehman.

Will McGrath netted a hat trick to lead the way for Prep, which took control of the game with a 4-0 advantage in the first quarter. Brady Holmes and Liam Barrett each scored twice, and Barrett had a game-high four assists. Aiden Jordan made 11 saves for the Cavaliers.

Gavin Paraschek scored twice, and Landon Schuckers once for Lake-Lehman. Black Knights goalie Andrew Evans made 20 saves in the loss.

Crestwood 14, Dallas 5

A pair of hat tricks and a strong performance in net powered Crestwood in their win over Dallas.

Osten Grigas and Brendan Dennis each scored three goals for the Comets, and Noah Schultz added a pair of goals. Ethan Zaboski made 10 saves for Crestwood.

Andrew Machulsky led the way for Dallas with two goals. Mountaineer goalie Ethen Sensenig made 18 saves.

BOYS TENNIS

Crestwood 4, Wilkes-Barre 1

Crestwood overcame an early singles loss by sweeping the rest of the match with Wilkes-Barre Area.

The Comets won the last four matches, including a sweep of doubles competition from the teams of Braiden Fallbright and Spencer Young, and Will Savner and Aaron Kogoy.

Wilkes-Barre Area’s Michael Hamel notched the lone win for the Wolfpack in singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Tommy Biscotti.

Dallas 5, Wyoming Valley West 0

It was a clean sweep for the Mountaineers as they defeated Wyoming Valley West.

Dallas won all five matches in straight sets, with Mihir Mikul, Steve Miller and Nate Linnen clinching the match with their singles victories.

Tunkhannock 3, Holy Redeemer 2

Three singles victories sealed the deal for Tunkhannock in a matchup with Holy Redeemer on Monday.

Zak Keiser, Mark Holovacs and Aidan Edwards picked up wins in singles competition for the Tigers, all in straight sets.

Redeemer picked up two wins in doubles action from the teams of Jacob Ohrin and John Tondora, and Jadon White and Kyle Antinnes.

Wyoming Area 3, Berwick 2

Wyoming Area dropped the first two matches of the day, but the Warriors bounced back to pull out the win over Berwick.

After Nick Weinsock’s singles victory over EJ Switzer got Wyoming Area on the board, the Warriors swept the doubles competition to win the overall match.

The teams of Gabe Cable and Brandon Kostik, and Eli Harding and Nick Cirelli posted wins for the Warriors.

Berwick was led by singles victories from Isaac Gerken and Ben Yard.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Tunkhannock 3, Hanover Area 0

The Tigers breezed past Hanover Area in a straight-sets victory.

Set scores were 25-11, 25-12 and 25-11, all in favor of Tunkhannock. Brady Slacktish led the Tigers with 12 kills, and he also added three service aces. Marcus Binner added 13 assists and 15 service points in the win.

Wilkes-Barre Area 3, Hazleton Area 1

The Wolfpack bounced back from a loss in the opening set to put away Hazleton Area.

After the Cougars took the opening set by a 25-19 score, Wilkes-Barre rallied to win the next three sets by 25-21, 25-12 and 25-17 scores.

Jesus Vazquez led the Wolfpack with an all-around effort: he tallied 12 kills, 15 digs, five aces, two service points and two blocks.

Wilkes-Barre’s Jordanny Rodriguez and Vincent Garrett had nine kills each. Julio Amigon had 28 assists.
