Three Comets had at least three goals as a balanced offensive effort from Crestwood downed Lake-Lehman 15-2 on Saturday. Gia Caporuscio led the team with five goals, while Jackie Gallagher and Jordan Andrews had three goals apiece.

Emmyrson Norconk scored both goals for Lake-Lehman. Cadence Rindock made 12 saves.

Abington Heights 16, Dallas 4

A massive second half helped the Comets pull away from Dallas. Abington Heights led 6-4 at the half, but was able to shutout Dallas in the second half while scoring ten goals of their own.

Allie Rothenberger and Keira Crowell had five goals apiece to lead Abington Heights.

Gabby Rogaski scored three goals to lead Dallas in defeat. Ireland Walsh added a goal for the Mountaineers, and Dallas goalie Taylor Pickett made seven saves.

BOYS LACROSSE

North Pocono 18, Holy Redeemer 3

Brady Mapes scored five goals to lead North Pocono to the win.

Riley Moore, Tate Bowen and Zack Evans each had hat tricks for the Trojans in the win, while Moore and Gavin Phillips each had three assists.

SOFTBALL

Northampton 12, Hazleton Area 1

The Cougars couldn’t get the bats going in a loss to District 11’s Northampton on Saturday.

Hazleton Area had just two hits, a base hit from Nanci Major and a double from Marissa Hoffman. Hoffman would also score the team’s lone run, in the first inning of a game shortened by mercy rule to five innings.

GIRLS TRACK

Pittston Area 113, Wyoming Valley West 34

Aria Messner won the 100-meter dash, long jump and triple jump along with anchoring the winning 400 relay team for Pittston Area.

Olivia Scalese handled the distance events, winning the 1600 and 3200 and anchoring the opening 3200 relay win. Bella Dessoye (400 run) and Ali Butcher (200 dash) each added individual wins for the Patriots.

BOYS TRACK

Pittston Area 89, Wyoming Valley West 52

Jaylin Moore swept the sprints, winning the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes in Pittston Area’s opening victory.

Gage Leffler won both hurdles races for the Patriots, the 110 high and the 300.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Colonels’ season ends

Wilkes set a new program record with 20 wins in a season as the Colonels split a tri-match to close the campaign, beating host Elmira 3-2 before falling 3-0 to nationally ranked Juniata.

Wilkes won the opener 25-22, 23-25, 26-24, 20-25, 17-15 as Jackson Shafter racked up 25 kills while Zach Shay had 44 assists.

Juniata earned a 25-18, 25-17, 25-14 sweep to close things out as Shafer added seven more kills in the loss.

MEN’S LACROSSE

Goucher 10, Wilkes 5

The Colonels led at halftime but couldn’t hold on, dropping their Senior Day contest with Goucher. Wilkes led 4-2 at halftime but a six-goal run from Goucher swung the momentum in their favor.

Matthew Warns led twice to lead Wilkes, who fell to 4-7 on the year and 1-3 in the Landmark Conference.

Lebanon Valley 15, King’s 5

The Monarchs came up short in their MAC Freedom opener against Lebanon Valley. King’s was able to keep it close in the first half, but a 6-0 Lebanon Valley edge in the third quarter was the difference-maker.

Trey Ralston led King’s with four goals and an assist.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Lebanon Valley 22, King’s 7

King’s fell behind big early and couldn’t keep up in a loss to Lebanon Valley. The Monarchs let up eight straight goals to start the game before finding the back of the net themselves.

Maria Schneider and Kyleigh Dunsworth each notched hat tricks for King’s. The Monarchs dropped to 1-10 (0-2 MAC) on the year.

Goucher 15, Wilkes 10

A fourth-quarter surge led Goucher to a win over Wilkes. The Colonels trailed by just one goal heading into the fourth quarter, but the Gophers outscored Wilkes 7-3 in the final quarter.

Ava Ward and Brooklyn Pedana each had hat tricks for Wilkes, with Ward adding in an assist.

TRACK AND FIELD

Novrocki sets King’s record

Andrew Novrocki’s record-setting performance highlighted the Monarchs’ weekend at the Millersville Metrics.

Novrocki won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.34 seconds. His time set a new King’s program record, beating out the 22.38 mark set by Emmanuel Edoukou at the 2019 MAC Championships.

Four other King’s competitors medaled at the event, including second-place finishes for Owen Foytack in the 1,500 meter run and Madison Armitage in the high jump.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

DeSales 6, King’s 3

Hailey D’Amato and Sarah Stettler won at singles for the Monarchs, who dropped their MAC Freedom opener.

Emma Rooney and Anagrace Schwartz got a win at No. 3 doubles.

Wilkes 7, Juniata 2

Cassidy Greenman, Zoe Klein, Karlee Yuscavage and Kensington Edmond all won in both singles and doubles play for the Colonels in a Landmark Conference victory.

MEN’S TENNIS

DeSales 5, King’s 4

King’s won four of the six singles matches but was narrowly edged in a MAC Freedom opener.

Patrick Pech, Aidan Temple, Brendan Turowski and Cody Zheng won for the Monarchs.

Juniata 7, Wilkes 2

The Colonels got wins in singles play from Sebastian Sylvester and Connor Frey in a Landmark Conference loss.

WOMEN’S GOLF

Susquehanna 398, Wilkes 405

The Colonels opened up their spring season with a Landmark Conference loss.

Wilkes’ Kyleen McCance led all competitors with an 81, nine strokes better than the rest of the field.
