Hat tricks from Anthony Magnotta, Greg Mikulski and Jeremy Janosov led Lake-Lehman to a 15-2 non-conference win over Mifflinburg on Saturday.
Logan Law added two goals for the Black Knights.
Pleasant Valley 14, North Pocono 5
The Trojans were defeated by District 11’s Pleasant Valley on Saturday.
Riley Moore led North Pocono with four goals. Jake Laboranti added one score for the Trojans.
Danville 14, Tunkhannock 0
The Tigers were shut out by their District 4 opponent Danville. Cameron Kiersch had four goals to lead the Ironmen.
Brian French made 10 saves for Tunkhannock, while Jayden Thompson came in to make three saves.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Wyoming Seminary 18, Lakeland 4
Six different players scored at least twice for Wyoming Seminary in their win over Lakeland.
Ellie Kersey led the charge with five goals, while Kylie Romanchick and Sara Williams had three goals each.
COLLEGES
MEN’S LACROSSE
Elizabethtown 30, Wilkes 5
The Colonels defense struggled on Saturday, allowing 30 goals to Elizabethtown to drop their sixth game in a row.
Colby Opromolla and Austin Sosnovik each had a goal and an assist for Wilkes.
Misericordia 21, King’s 9
The Cougars put the game away with an 8-1 run in the third quarter to beat King’s. A 8-4 halftime lead for Misericordia ballooned to 16-5 at the end of the third quarter.
Jared Pelliccione led all scorers with seven goals for Misericordia, and Connor Bevan added four goals and four assists.
Ryan Barnes led the Monarchs with three goals, and he also reached a milestone by picking up his 100th career ground ball.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Elizabethtown 12, Wilkes 8
Wilkes was tied at the half but couldn’t hold on against Elizabethtown, falling to 0-8 in the Landmark Conference. The halftime score was 7-7 before the Blue Jays went on a 5-1 run to finish the game and hand Wilkes the loss.
Maleah Cobham, Morgan Hettesheimer and Brooklyn Pedana each scored two goals for the Colonels.
MEN’S TENNIS
King’s 5, FDU-Florham 4
The Monarchs won four singles matches and picked up a crucial doubles point to beat FDU-Florham on the road.
Brendan Turowski and Cody Zheng won the pivotal doubles point for King’s. Zheng also won in singles, along with Logan Gregory, John Toussaint and Patrick Pech.
Moravian 7, Wilkes 2
The Colonels were beaten in their final home match of the season.
Angelo Guzman and Sebastian Sylvester won their doubles match for Wilkes, and Guzman would earn the team’s second point with a win in singles competition.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
King’s 8, FDU-Florham 1
The Monarchs picked up their first MAC win of the season in strong fashion, sweeping three doubles matches and winning five of six singles matches to beat FDU-Florham.
Ashley Kenia, Hailey D’Amato, Carlee Dellose and Emma Rooney were all double winners for King’s.
Moravian 8, Wilkes 1
Wilkes wrapped up their first regular season as Landmark Conference members with a 4-5 league record after a loss to Moravian.
Zoe Klein was the lone winner of the day for the Colonels, picking up a victory in her singles match.
SOFTBALL
King’s sweeps Arcadia
The Monarchs picked up two big wins over Arcadia, winning the first game 2-1 and the second game 5-2.
Emily Novicki threw a complete game to earn the Game 1 win, allowing just one run while striking out 11 batters, tying her career-high. In the second game, Paige Bergan had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the King’s offense.
Wilkes posts two shutouts
The pitching carried the Colonels on Senior Day, as Wilkes picked up 1-0 and 2-0 wins over Elizabethtown on Saturday.
Sami Hendershott and Hope Mullins combined for the Game 1 shutout, and Lauren DeMarco pitched a complete-game three-hitter to win the second game. Hana Cross hit a two-run homer to account for the two Wilkes runs in the second game.
BASEBALL
Wilkes drops two
The Colonels fell in the opening game of the doubleheader 8-0 and lost the second game 13-9.
An eighth-inning Elizabethtown grand slam proved the difference-maker in the second game, breaking a 9-9 tie and delivering the Blue Jays the win.
Luke Spencer and Zack Luksic each homered for the Colonels in the second game, and the pair drove in five runs combined.
TRACK & FIELD
Two new King’s records
Owen Foytack and Andrew Novrocki topped their own program records in their events as King’s competed at the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University.
Foytack clocked in with a time of 3:59.91 in the 1,500 meter run, edging out his previous record time of 4:00.08 set last year. Novrocki took fourth place overall in the 400 dash with a mark of 47.96 seconds, topping his own record of 48.02 set last year at the MAC Championships.
WOMEN’S GOLF
Locals battle in quad match
The Cougars edged out Wilkes by a single stroke with a team score of 418 to take second place, sending Wilkes to third place with a 419 score. King’s finished in fourth with a 462, while Scranton breezed to a win with a score of 365.
Kyleen McCance shot an 83 for Wilkes, the second-lowest individual score on the course behind Scranton’s Madalyne Buhler, who won medalist honors with an 82.
Jordyn Ruane shot a 92 to lead Misericordia, while Mady Pendolphi was the Monarchs’ low scorer with a 102.
