Lily Matthews scored both goals for the Hanover Area field hockey team in a 2-0 win over Holy Redeemer on Thursday.

Both of Matthews’ goals were assisted by Kasey McGlynn. Ava Malacarne made nine saves for the Hawkeyes.

Holy Redeemer goalkeeper Maddie Miller made 12 saves.

Wallenpaupack 5, Nanticoke Area 1

Ava Caruso scored twice to lead Wallenpaupack past Nanticoke Area. Sophie Fontano added a goal and an assist for the Buckhorns.

Nanticoke Area’s lone goal was scored by Emma Brown and assisted by Kate Reed.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Holy Redeemer 3, Dallas 2

The Royals battled back from losses in the second and third sets to knock off the Mountaineers 25-14, 16-25, 18-25, 25-16, 15-5.

Abby Williams (20 service points, 4 aces, 10 kills, 3 digs), Brooke Kroptavich (5 kills, 10 service points, 4 digs, 1 block) and Megan Albrecht (20 assists, 7 digs, 4 kills, 9 service points) led the effort for Redeemer.

Nanticoke Area 3, Pittston Area 0

Haley Verazin had nine kills and nine service points in a Nanticoke Area sweep. Set scores were 25-22, 25-22 and 25-22 all in favor of Nanticoke Area.

Amiah Ceruti had 17 assists and five kills. Caitlyn Majiros had seven kills, and Alyvia Schneider had six digs.

Berwick 3, Lake-Lehman 1

The Bulldogs won the first two sets 25-16 and 25-10, with Lake-Lehman rallying to win the third set 25-19. Berwick won the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth and final set.

Grace Robbins had 18 kills for Berwick. Julia Rauch had 44 assists, and Zoey Force had 16 digs.

Ella Wilson had 20 kills and 11 digs for Lake-Lehman.

BOYS SOCCER

Holy Redeemer 1, Lake-Lehman 1

Both teams could only muster a single second-half goal, playing to a 1-1 draw.

Ayden Hannigan scored for Holy Redeemer, with the assist by Joshua Rocha.

Andrew Mathes scored the equalizer for Lake-Lehman, assisted by Hunter Palka.

Wyoming Area 4, MMI Prep 0

Ryan Gutowski scored twice, and the Warriors defense held firm in a shutout victory.

Noah Kostik and Agustin Price added a goal each for Wyoming Area. Ben Rogish had an assist.

Ben Drobnock made 18 saves in goal for MMI Prep.

Wilson Area 2, Hazleton Area 1

An overtime goal by Braden Benevides led District 11’s Wilson Area to a win over Hazleton Area.

Radames Cordero scored the lone goal for Hazleton Area, assisted by Brady Znachko. Gus Canizares made five saves for the Cougars.

Wyoming Valley West 8, Berwick 0

Lola Wojciechowski scored four goals and assisted on three others in a big Wyoming Valley West win over Berwick.

Emma Moses scored twice for the Spartans, with Madison Warnack and Meghan Singer each scoring once.

Ashlyn Klahob made 11 saves for Berwick.

Crestwood 10, Hazleton Area 0

Jordan Andrews figured in on six Crestwood goals as she and Maria Smith each recorded hat tricks. Andrews added three assists and Smith had one helper.

Kiley Kondraski scored twice while Adison Huber and Mattie Divers had a goal apiece. Daisy West got the shutout for the Comets.

GIRLS TENNIS

Pittston Area 4, Wilkes-Barre Area 1

A sweep of the three singles matches locked up the win for Pittston Area.

Ayla Krieger, Ella Swan and Gabby Gorzkowski each won in singles for the Patriots. The team of Sophia Montagna and Emily Hannon earned an additional point in doubles.

Cinny Chen and Doralice Nunez earned the lone point for Wilkes-Barre Area with a doubles win.

GOLF

Lake-Lehman 153, MMI Prep 192

Medalist honors were split between the two teams, but Lake-Lehman’s strong team effort led them to victory.

Charlie Weidner shot a 36 to lead Lake-Lehman, tied for the individual lead. Jackson Norconk shot a 38, Von Voelker shot a 39 and Jack Kashatus added a 40.

Joe Mayernik earned a tie for medalist honors, shooting a 36 to lead MMI Prep.

Dallas 155, Hanover Area 205

Charlie Letwinsky shot a one-under 34 to win medalist honors and lead Dallas to a win.

Ryan Roman added a 37 for the Mountaineers. Payton VanValkenburgh shot a 41, and Brady Youngblood carded a 43.

Nate Wright shot a 45 to lead Hanover Area. Jeff Peck shot a 61.
