Andrew Mathes figured in on all three goals and scored the winner at the 9:01 mark of the second overtime to give Lake-Lehman a 3-2 win over Wyoming Seminary on Friday in a WVC boys soccer match.

Mathes also set up a Greyson Dieffenbacher goal in the first half and scored another to give the Black Knights a 2-0 lead in the 50th minute.

But the Blue Knights rallied as Artur Zelenko and Adrian Rojo both tallied in a six-minute span to tie the game with 10:52 left in regulation. Zelenko’s goal and Mathes’ overtime winner each came on a penalty kick.

Wyoming Valley West 4, Crestwood 2

In a game played Thursday, the Spartans earned the road win.

The Comets got goals from Colin Gordon and Nathan Cioco.

GIRLS SOCCER

Wyoming Valley West 7, Pittston Area 0

Lola Wojciechowski took control of things early for the Spartans, scoring the game’s first four goals in the first 30 minutes of play. Wojciechowski added two assists in the second half.

Madison Warnack had two goals and Jordayn Dermody closed out the scoring for Valley West. Lily Shymanski and Grace Lopez split time in net for the shutout.

FIELD HOCKEY

Wyoming Area 9, Wyoming Seminary 0

The Warriors continued their strong play against the Blue Knights, earning a second shutout win in the series this season, this time in a non-conference matchup.

Lyla Rehill and Ella McKernan led the way with three goals apiece for Wyoming Area. Lucia Campenni, Juliana Gonzales and Claudia Rehill all added a goal each. Rylee Muniz earned the shutout in net.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Holy Redeemer 3, West Scranton 0

Bella Boylan (13) and Abby Williams (12) combined for 25 kills in the Royals’ 25-10, 25-8, 25-9 sweep.

Boylan added a block, two assists and seven service points while Williams had a block and six service points. Gillian Parsons contributed four kills, one assist and two service points while Zoe Pecuch had three kills.

The Invaders were led by Mia Tallo (3 kills), Aubrey Kerrigan (1 ace) and Sophia Deluca (12 digs).

GIRLS TENNIS

Crestwood 3, MMI Prep 2

The Comets swept doubles competition as the teams of Paicey Clower/Darin Khuseyn and Kendall Petrosky/Lucy Malia each won 6-0, 6-0. Ella Richards also won for Crestwood at singles.

Kendall Orozco pulled out a three-set victory at No. 1 singles for the Preppers. Ava Genetti won at No. 2 singles.
