The Wyoming Valley Conference’s two district champions in girls soccer were all well-represented on Thursday when the league coaches released their Division 1 and Division 2 all-stars.
Wyoming Area, the Class 2A district champs, had five players named to the Division 2 first team, tying them with Lake-Lehman and Division 1’s Crestwood for the most first-teamers in either division.
Crestwood’s Jordan Andrews and Lake-Lehman’s Kinley Purdy — in addition to their first-team designations in Division 1 and Division 2, respectively — were also named to the all-state team.
Class A district champ Holy Redeemer was right behind in Division 2 with three first-teamers. Nanticoke Area had two first-team honorees, while Hanover Area and Wyoming Seminary had one player each named to the first team.
Crestwood, the district runner-up in Class 3A, led Division 1 with the five first-team nods. Dallas had three first-teamers, while Hazleton Area and Wilkes-Barre Area had two first-team nods each.
Berwick, Pittston Area and Wyoming Valley West had one first-team honoree each to round out Division 1’s group.
