Lake-Lehman pulled away in the second half as the Black Knights defeated Western Wayne 51-35 Tuesday night in a District 2 Class 3A girls basketball quarterfinal game.
Third-seeded Lehman (16-7) outscored the sixth-seeded Wildcats (11-12) 27-14 after halftime to set up a third meeting with Holy Redeemer in the semifinals Friday.
Kinley Purdy led Lehman with 12 of her team-high 17 points in the second half. Delcia Biscotto had 13 and Olivia Oliver added 12.
Khloe Mistishin scored 10 for Western Wayne.
Holy Redeemer 54, Lakeland 16
The second-seeded Royals took a 26-point lead at halftime in a victory over seventh-seeded Lakeland in a D2-3A quarterfinal game.
McKenzie Chimock scored 18 and Bella Boylan had 13 for Redeemer (17-7), which will host third-seeded Lake-Lehman in the semifinal on Friday.
Naomi Rude had seven for Lakeland, which ended it season at 7-16.
Wyoming Valley West 31, Wilkes-Barre Area 23
The Spartans used a solid second half to defeat Wilkes-Barre Area in a D2-6A quarterfinal game.
Helen Lewis scored 10 points and Ava Yancey added eight as fifth-seeded Wyoming Valley West (3-20) will head to top-seeded Hazleton Area (22-2) on Friday for a semifinal game.
Kaitlyn Miller and Jaida Underwood had 10 each for fourth-seeded WBA, which ended its season at 6-17.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Valley View 65, Hanover Area 30
Fifth-seeded Hanover Area fell behind early as the Hawkeyes’ season ended with a D2-4A quarterfinal loss to fourth-seeded Valley View.
Angel Tejeda had seven to pace Hanover Area, which finished 13-10.
Valley View’s Cash Roe had 13 and Michael Muto and Jagger Roe added 12 each. The Cougars will head to top-seeded Dallas on Friday for a semifinal game.
Dallas 67, Mid Valley 41
Top-seeded Dallas took a 31-point lead at halftime to cruise to a D2-4A quarterfinal win over eighth-seeded Mid Valley.
Kael Berry and Brady Mizzer had 10 each for Dallas (22-3), which will host Valley View in the semifinals on Friday. The Mountaineers had 12 players figure in the scoring.
Landon Pratt had 20 for Mid Valley (7-16).
Pittston Area 60, Nanticoke Area 37
Brennan Callahan scored 16 points as third-seeded Pittston Area defeated sixth-seeded Nanticoke Area in a D2-5A quarterfinal game.
John Jadus had 14 and Lucas LoPresto added 11 for the Patriots (12-11), who will play at second-seeded Crestwood on Friday.
Louden Mullery scored 12 to pace Nanticoke Area (3-20). Mathias Mitchell scored 11.
