The Wyoming Valley Conference softball coaches met recently to select their divisional all-stars.
Tunkhannock freshman pitcher Michaela Howell was selected the Division 1 MVP. Tunkhannock junior outfielder Addisyn Waterman was picked the Player of the Year.
Lake-Lehman senior pitcher Hannah Chipego was chosen the Division 2 MVP. Wyoming Area senior pitcher Alexa Gacek and Holy Redeemer senior first baseman Zoe Pecuch were named Co-Players of the Year.
Also selected to the Division 1 first team were: Crestwood’s Kayla Sincavage; Dallas’ Annie Osipower and Alyssa Traver; Hazleton Area’s Saige Klesh and Sofia Rodgers; Pittston Area’s Sam Herbert, Lili Hintze and Jillian Haas; Tunkhannock’s Makenzie Bevan and Kianna Hannon; Wilkes-Barre Area’s Hope Burke and Grace Simko; and Wyoming Valley West’s Isabella Sobieski.
Also selected to the Division 2 first team were: Berwick’s Makayla Brown and Emma Walsh; Hanover Area’s Caitlyn Vigorito and Natalie Weidner; Holy Redeemer’s Katie Genovese, Hailey Pius and Covington Lehman; Lake-Lehman’s Kaitlyn Brudnicki, Julia Sholtis and Hayley Wallace; Nanticoke Area’s Haley Verazin; and Wyoming Area’s Addison Gaylord, Ashley Gustitus and Josie Kivak.
Division 1 second-team selections were: Crestwood’s Celia Stahlnecker and Alexa Toniatti; Dallas’ Sydney Haydu and Elliot Rigol; Hazleton Area’s Isabella Almeida and Kayla Lagowy; Pittston Area’s Gabby Roman and Mikaila Sarf; Tunkhannock’s Lucy Karp and Taryn Newswanger; Wilkes-Barre Area’s Kayce Martin and Madalyn McGuinness; and Wyoming Valley West’s Reese McGlynn.
Division 2 second-team selections were: Berwick’s Lauren Ashworth, Liliana Belles and Ashlyn Klahold; Hanover Area’s Ella Place and Hannah Sienne; Holy Redeemer’s Ava Thomas and Sadie Werner; Lake-Lehman’s Addi Butler and Gracie James; Nanticoke Area’s Rilee Ruminski and Callie Welch; and Wyoming Area’s Allison Layland, Londyn Sobeck and Sophia Wardel.
Division 1 honorable mention selections were: Crestwood’s Alekzandria Dutko and Holly Rodgers; Dallas’ Emma Fostock, Cadance Hudgins and Lacey Youngblood; Hazleton Area’s Aleeyah Blanyar and Hannah Matyas; Pittston Area’s Julianna Cocco and Julia Long; Tunkhannock’s Kayden Bamberger; Wilkes-Barre Area’s Casey George and Aubrey Weitz; and Wyoming Valley West’s Ella Frazier.
Division 2 did not select honorable mentions.
