Former Wyoming Area standout Dominic DeLuca will be back with the Baltimore Ravens, according to The Atlantic’s Jeff Zrebiec.
Zrebiec, who covers the Ravens for the Atlantic, posted on x.com that DeLuca was one of several players cut Sunday who will be signed to the practice squad.
DeLuca started all three preseason games at inside linebacker and finished with 15 tackles. He was one of the final cuts before the 6 p.m. Sunday deadline for NFL teams to set their 53-man rosters.
NFL teams were allowed to put in waiver claims until 1 p.m. Monday. Any players claimed had to be added to the 53-man roster. Those unclaimed could sign anywhere.
Members of the practice squad can be elevated to game-day rosters three times before they must become full members of the 53-man roster. DeLuca could have that opportunity.
The Ravens have four inside linebackers on their 53-man roster, but one is Teddye Buchanan. Buchanan started last season, but suffered an injury in December that required surgery.
Buchanan could be placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list where he would have to miss a minimum of four games.
DeLuca will be part of a Ravens team that includes another former Wyoming Valley Conference star. Williamsport’s Joe Fagnano made the 53-main roster as the third quarterback.
Like DeLuca, Fagnano went undrafted in April.
