Trailing by a goal early in the second quarter, Dallas got an immediate answer from Caitlyn Mizzer, sparking a huge performance that gave the Mountaineers a 7-3 win over Nanticoke Area on Monday in a WVC field hockey game.
The Trojans led 2-1 when Mizzer scored to tie the game just seconds later, the first of six straight goals she had for Dallas.
Marley Mazur opened the scoring for the Mounts, who went into halftime tied 3-3 before Mizzer scored four straight in a span of eight minutes in the third quarter to put the game away.
Nanticoke Area got a pair of goals from Emma Brown, who is closing in on the program’s all-time scoring record. Rileigh Brown opened the game with an early goal for the Trojans.
Hazleton Area 11, Holy Redeemer 1
Bella Boyle, who recently topped 100 goals for her career and is verbally committed to play at Holy Cross, exploded for nine goals and assisted on a 10th for the Cougars against the Royals.
Lauren Harmonosky gave Hazleton Area a 1-0 lead after one quarter before Redeemer tied it up on an Addison Vavrek goal in the second.
From there, Boyle proceeded to scored twice in the second and third before erupting for five more goals in the fourth. Jacelyn Pena had the other marker for the Cougars. Addison Bobrowski added two assists.
GIRLS SOCCER
Wyoming Valley West 5, Valley View 0
Kyla Evanofski shined for the Spartans, factoring in on all five goals on the evening, scoring four and setting up another in a non-conference win.
Evanofski had the lone goal of the first half and added three after the break. She picked up an assist on a Stella Wojciechowski goal as well.
Lilli Esposito had two saves for the shutout.
BOYS SOCCER
Wyoming Valley West 7, Lake-Lehman 1
Chase Evanofski scored twice in 22 seconds to get things started for the Spartans, who also got three goals and an assist from Eli Sieminski in the win.
Noah Fetko (assist) and Schuyler Davis had a goal apiece in the win while Maks Iracki had two helpers.
Ayden Richardson got the Black Knights on the board early in the second half.
Central Columbia 6, Wilkes-Barre Area 0
Tain Karns recorded a hat trick to power Central Columbia to a non-conference win on the road.
Jameson Lapes, Jacob Beagle and Gus Bauman also scored for the Blue Jays.

The Bulldogs opened their season with a 25-23, 25-13, 25-20 sweep of the Millionaires.

The Mountaineers got a pair of standout performances as Ryan Roman and Landon Moser both finished under par with at 33 and 35, respectively, for a win at Irem Country Club.
Josh Salvaterra and Charley Bransford each came in with a 45 for Dallas.
Aiden August topped the Warriors with a 39. Mitchell Rusinchak had 43 while Cooper Broda and Brayden Gaylord both shot 51.
