* Equipment is available Mondays-Saturdays between 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (excluding holidays, Feb. 6, and Feb. 20). All equipment must be turned in by 3 p.m.

* There must be at least 4 inches of snow on the ground for using the skis and 6” of snow on the ground for using the snowshoes. Call the park office or visit the Winter Report for snow conditions: dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/winter-report/index.htm

* A valid driver’s license must be provided by at least one person in the group.

* Equipment is loaned on a first come, first served basis and must be used on park property.

* Park staff will be available to give brief instruction upon request.

* Be prepared using these simple tips:

Snowshoes have a tendency to kick up snow as you walk which can stick to your pants – do not wear cotton jeans or sweatpants – we recommend snow pants or an outer layer of rain pants so you’ll stay warmer and drier.

Snowshoes are strapped directly onto your shoes, so wear warm and waterproof boots if possible. We provide specialized shoes for the skis, so wear warm socks.

The activities work up a sweat. Dress in layers and bring water.
