Not long after the deep snow from Winter Storm Stella melted away, wildlife began to return to their routines. And they were a bit hungry.

This enormous black bear paid a visit to Swoyersville on March 27, looking for an easy meal after sitting out the snowstorm. The bruin found it, apparently, in a few garbage cans.

Robert Krull had a trail camera set up in his yard to capture a few images of the bear. Before he saw the photos, Krull said he found one of his neighbor’s garbage cans in his yard one morning. The plastic can had bite marks, and there was a large hole smashed in another neighbor’s fence. Krull’s camera caught the culprit as the large bruin paid a rare visit to an urban area like Swoyersville.

Capture anything interesting on your hand-held or trail camera? A nice buck, bear, coyote or any other wildlife? We’d love to see it. Each week, we’ll run photos from a reader’s trail camera on the Sunday Outdoors page. Email your photo, along with date and area it was taken (township is fine), and any other details to [email protected].
