While this isn’t a trail camera picture or a photo of a wild animal, this shot of a patch of vibrant yellow flowers is an example of the beauty found in nature. Benedict A. Yatko of Hanover Township took the photos along the Susquehanna River near the boat launch behind the Breslau Fire Hall. Yatko spotted the flowers last month, and by now the pedals are dropping as the weather is bound to turn colder. At least the bumblebee in the photo is taking full advantage of the flowers while they’re in bloom.
Still, the flowers — they appear to be Jerusalem artichoke or wild sunflower — serve as a reminder of the color found in the summer that we’ll surely miss during the gray days of the upcoming winter.
Capture anything interesting on your hand-held or trail camera? A nice buck, bear, coyote or any other wildlife? We’d love to see it. Each week, we’ll run photos from a reader’s trail camera on the Sunday Outdoors page. Email your photo, along with date and area it was taken (township is fine), and any other details to [email protected]
