Food can be the common bond between predator and prey in the wild. Not that this deer would exactly become dinner for the gray fox in the photo, but it’s interesting to see that both are comfortable enough to tolerate each other’s presence over a meal.
Bernie Okuniewski of Larksville captured the photo on a trail camera in April. By now, it’s likely that the fox and the deer have gone their separate ways as food for each is now abundant.
Capture anything interesting on your hand-held or trail camera? A nice buck, bear, coyote or any other wildlife? We’d love to see it. Each week, we’ll run photos from a reader’s trail camera on the Sunday Outdoors page. Email your photo, along with date and area it was taken (township is fine), and any other details to [email protected]
