Meyers boys soccer edges Redeemer

Times Leader

Tanner Nilon accounted for all of Meyers’ goals on Friday night as the Mohawks boys soccer team beat Holy Redeemer 3-2. Nilon completed the hat trick with two second half goals.

John Kuderka scored a goal and had an assist in the loss for the Royals.

Lake-Lehman 9, GAR 0

Mike Bulzoni had a night to remember as he recorded two goals and three assists in the win for Lake-Lehman. Max Paczewski also had a big night scoring a hat trick with three first half goals.

GIRLS SOCCER

Holy Redeemer 8, Meyers 1

Kasey Danko and Annie Bagnall were forces to be reckoned with for Holy Redeemer. Both scored two goals and added one assist. Ashley Bruno was the lone goal scorer for Meyers in the loss.

FIELD HOCKEY

Wyoming Area 9, Nanticoke 0

Lauren Parente kick-started the Warriors’ offense by completing a hat trick and adding an assist. Toni Minichello also provided a spark offensively scoring three goals and an assist.

MMI Prep 164, Hanover Area 197

Jessica McClellan medalled, shooting a 39 in the Preppers win over Hanover Area. Christian Hornnack also shot a 40 for MMI Prep. Kyleen McCounce had the best score for the Hawks on the day with a 45.

Lake-Lehman 168, Wyoming Area 195

Bobby Lugiano led the way for Lake-Lehman in their win over the Warriors. Lugiano shot a 37, and Michael Sholtis shot a 39. For Wyoming Area, Cole Coolbaugh led the way, shooting a 47.

Wyoming Seminary 169, Berwick 200

Bobby Wilson and Harrison May led the way for Wyoming Seminary as the both medalled shooting a 41. Wes Arndt led the way for Berwick shooting a 44.

GIRLS TENNIS

Holy Redeemer 4, Wyoming Area 1

The Royals dominated each of the singles matches to top Wyoming Area. Camryn Cassetori, Tea Amerise and Cassie Benderavich each won their matches for Holy Redeemer.

Wyoming Seminary 5, Crestwood 0

Wyoming Seminary swept Crestwood with wins from Nicole Joanlanne, Emily Urbanski, Shailee Desai, Christina Cikowski/Dominica Delayo and Paige Parsons/Parker Callahan.

Tunkhannock 3, Coughlin 2

Meghan Keiser fought to stay alive to fight off three match points in her third set to help earn Tunkhannock a crucial victory. Jillian Landon and Ashley Kenia/Jordana Bach also earned big wins for the Tigers.

Stroudsburg 3, Hazleton Area 2

The Cougars fall to Stroudsburg but had good performances from Lily Nowak and Alyssa Mazurek in their respective singles matches. Both Nowak and Mazurek picked up the lone two wins for Hazleton Area

Holy Redeemer 3, Berwick 0

Holy Redeemer swept the Bulldogs 25-12, 25-8, 25-12. Abby Lapinski led the way for the Royals with four kills, two assists and a block. Maddie Lewis added six points and a dig to the Royals winning effort.

The Monarchs opened Freedom Conference play with a bang, as Jolee Treslar helped lead King’s past Delaware Valley. Treslar scored the first goal then followed it up with two assists.

Kelsey Gabriele and Kelley O’Keefe also scored for the Monarchs. Brianna Maluda and Dervla Mcearlean combined their efforts for the shutout.
