Shane Szczecinski and the Dallas boys swimming team dominated the pool, defeating Pittston Area 116-30 in Wyoming Valley Conference swimming on Friday.

Szczecinski won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. He also helped the Mountaineers and Jason Puza win the 400 freestyle relay.

Puza along with David Rinehimer, Zachary Bockus and Dennis Dukinas won the 200 medley relay as well. On his own, Puza won the 200 I.M.

Rinehimer went on to win the 100 freestyle and help win the 200 freestyle relay. Dukinas won the 500 freestyle.

Meyers 99, Wyoming Area 34

The Mohawks and Jacob Schultz top Wyoming Area.

Schultz won the 2oo freestyle and helped win the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.

Nanticoke Area 99, Wyoming Valley West 36

Julian Homa and the Trojans cruised past Wyoming Valley West.

Homa helped his team win the 200 medley and the 400 freestyle relays. He also won the 200 freestyle.

H.S. GIRLS SWIMMING

Dallas 131, Pittston Area 48

Dallas beat the Patriots thanks too outstanding performances from Melissa Leonard, Gabby Spaciano and Gabby Krochta.

The trio helped win the 200 medley. Leonard won 200 IM and the 100 butterfly.

Spaciano won the 50 freestyle and helped win the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.

Krotcha won the 500 freestyle.

Meyers 96, Wyoming Area 71

Elizabeth Livingston helped lead Meyers past the Warriors.

Livingston helped win the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. Individually, she won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly.

Nanticoke Area 116, Wyoming Valley West 48

Kalliyah Lloyd and Nanticoke Area down the Spartans.

Lloyd helped the Trojans win the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays as well as winning the 200 IM.

Hazleton Area 65, Pittston Area 11

The Cougars dominated the Patriots with eight pins.

Dallas 68, Berwick 9

Dallas beat the Bulldogs with four pins and seven forfeit wins.

Wilkes goes 2-1 in Whitehill Duals

Wilkes won two of three matches on the opening day of the 2019 Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College.

Wilkes began the day with a 20-17 loss to Springfield before capturing wins over Ohio Northern 31-16 and No. 21 Washington and Lee 24-12 to finish second in its group. The win over W&L marked the second victory over a ranked opponent this season and moved the team’s overall dual record to 12-3. The Colonels move into the fifth through eighth place bracket Saturday.

SHELTON, Ct. – Shauna Tubbs notched her third career goal, but the Wilkes University women’s ice hockey team fell at Post University.

Alexa Rango made 36 saves for the Colonels in goal.
