Scoring for the second time in as many nights, Sam Miletic pulled Wilkes-Barre/Scranton even at the midway mark Saturday.

It was the only offense the Penguins could muster.

Tied after two periods, Grand Rapids broke out for three goals in the third to take down the Penguins 4-1, dropping them to 1-2 on their four-game road trip.

Miletic had scored in a win Friday night in Milwaukee, but the Penguins couldn’t keep the momentum going on Saturday even after Miletic made it 1-1 in the second period, answering a goal by Filip Zadina.

But less than a minute into the third, Colin Campbell scored for the Griffins, who added insurance goals from Libor Sulak and Matt Puempel to close out the win.

Anthony Peters started in net for the Penguins and stopped 28 of 32 shots. Earlier in the day, Pittsburgh re-assigned goalie Tristan Jarry to the team, but he wasn’t in uniform on Saturday night.

Joseph Blandisi and Ethan Prow had assists on Miletic’s goal.

The Penguins surrendered two power-play scores. After they picked up their fourth minor penalty of the game, Puempel scored to make it 4-1 and Jean-Sebastien Dea was given a 10-minute misconduct for abuse of officials.

Joseph Cramarossa picked up an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the second period.

With the loss, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (24-21-4-1) fell into a tie for fifth place in the Atlantic Division with Hershey at 53 points. The Penguins face the Bears next, closing out their road trip with a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday.
