Connor Morgan broke a tie in the seventh inning with a two-run homer to give Lake-Lehman a 5-3 win over Nanticoke Area in a preseason baseball game on Wednesday.

The Trojans had tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth on RBIs by Tyler Pokrinchak, Dylan Szychowski and Nick Matson before Morgan put the Black Knights up in the next frame, hitting a two-out shot following a walk by Andrew Martin. Ty Federici finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs in the win.

Luke Myers tripled and had two of the Trojans’ four hits.

Pittston Area 14, Old Forge 4

In just five innings, Pittston Area baseball pounded out 14 runs on 14 hits in a non-league win.

Andrew Krawczyk (double), Joe Cencetti (RBI), Riley Brody, Johnny DeLucca (double, RBI) and Devin Market all had two hits for the Patriots while Hunter Ralston doubled and drove in three runs. The Patriots also drew 10 walks.

Cole Cherkas went four innings on the mound for the win, striking out three while allowing one run.

Berwick 6, Hanover Area 4

Ian Kishbaugh, Henry Novicki and Shane Levan each collected two hits as Berwick used a four-run fourth inning to get past Hanover Area in a preseason matchup.

Kishbaugh also drove in two runs.

Kevin Polanco, Connor Quaglia, Todd Kolbicka and Justin Stefanowicz all had hits for Hanover.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Hazleton Area 128, Pittston Area 38

Hazleton Area won 13 of 18 events en route to the victory.

Ignacio Diaz, Zachary Keiner, Michael Bradley and Ryan Zamonas were all double winners for Hazleton.

Crestwood 91, Berwick 59

Crestwood won 12 events to top Berwick.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Hazleton Area 86, Pittston Area 64

Hazleton won 12 events en route to the victory.

Lauren Festa and Jillian Buchman were double winners for Hazleton. Festa won the triple jump with a leap of 30 feet, nine inches and the long jump with a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches. Buchman won the 100-meter dash in 13.1 seconds and the 400 in 1:05.4.

Berwick 109, Crestwood 41

Berwick won 12 events to get past Crestwood.

SOFTBALL

Hazleton Area 5, Wyoming Seminary 2

Aleha Kost allowed just six hits and two runs, while striking out six, to lead the Cougars past the Blue Knights.

Julia Mooney hit a two-run triple to lead Hazleton offensively.

GAR 6, Coughlin 2

Chloe Sromovski, Erin Leonard and Sarah Youkoski all collected two hits to lead GAR past Coughlin.

Hanover Area 21, Coughlin 1

Emilee Bobos and Kasidy Slusser clubbed a home runs to lead Hanover Area past Coughlin in a game shortened to three innings on Tuesday.

Slusser finished with five RBI while Bobos knocked in four.

BOYS TENNIS

GAR 3, Hazleton Area 2

Rafael Amigon and Tim Wielgopolski scored singles wins as GAR earned its first boys tennis victory.

Charlie Carvajal and Carlos Carvajal teamed to win the decisive doubles match.

Dallas 4, Wyoming Area 1

Dallas swept the singles competition and posted a victory at No. 1 doubles.

Winners for the Mountaineers were John Toussaint, Alex DeRome, Dom Rizzo and the doubles team of Danny Dudick and Dan Flynn.

Holy Redeemer 3, Berwick 2

Mark Harrison, Domonic Marchese and Brandon Gebenus won single matches to lead the Royals.

James Lloyd teamed Brandon Turoski and Mark Celona and Dallas Schecheterly scored doubles victories for Berwick.

Crestwood 4, Tunkhannock 1

The Comets swept singles competition on wins from Brandon Krupa, Julien Lacoste and Alex Covelens.

Ethan Sickler and Noah Gruver won at No. 1 doubles for the Tigers.

Wyoming Seminary 5, MMI Prep 0

The Blue Knights won in straight sets in all five matches, led by Will Ziegler at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

BOYS LACROSSE

Lake-Lehman 9, Coughlin 6

Zach Aben scored three goals to lead the Black Knights while Scott Robbins made 10 saves in net.

Coughlin’s Brandon Kelley led all scorers with four goals, topping 100 for his career.

The Warriors earned a 25-6, 25-6, 25-3 sweep of the Crusaders.

The Monarchs had seven players score Wednesday as Michael O’Brien, Jared Gambino and Alec Martin all found the net twice.

Pat Luzzi led the Cougars with six goals and two assists in the loss.

King’s 15, Juniata 6

Jen O’Connor scored five times and fellow freshman Brianna Raucci finished with four goals on four shots.

Noah Durnin tossed seven innings allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

Jack Fischer went 4-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBIs, while Brandon Reno was 3-for-5 with four RBIs for the Colonels.

Marywood 11, King’s 10

Dan Hartson came through with four hits, including the 100th of his career for the Monarchs. King’s erased an 8-2 deficit and ultimately tied the game in the ninth before the Pacers won it in the home half.

Matt Dobeck also had four hits for the Monarchs, who had 17 as a team.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Arcadia 3, Wilkes 0

Wilkes fell to Aracdia by scores of 25-13, 25-23, 25-19 on senior night.

Kyle Price and Daniel Sales closed out their careers inside the Marts Center and were honored before the match. Price finished with a team-high eight digs while Sales dished out 24 assists and had six digs.

Misericordia 3, Eastern 0

The Cougars are headed to the conference tournament after sweeping the Eagles 25-22, 25-22, 25-22. Ryan Miller and Brian Ross had 12 kills in the win.

SOFTBALL

Wilkes wins a pair

The Colonels rallied from a three-run deficit in the 10th inning of the second game to sweep a doubleheader with Lycoming, winning 8-1 and 8-7.

Erin Cabry’s RBI single with two outs clinched the sweep after Britny Jumalon’s two run triple in the 10th. Celine Podlesney threw a four-hitter in the first win.

Cougars drop two

Misericordia shots a 372 in its season opener, losing to DeSales (335) and Delaware Valley (359). Johnny Plouffe led the Cougars with an 86.
