MOOSIC — Thairo Estrada hadn’t hit two home runs in the same game in nearly three years.

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders second baseman blasted two homers in Saturday’s contest, powering the Yankees Triple-A affiliate to a 10-4 victory over the Buffalo Bisons.

RailRiders starter Drew Hutchinson gave up a single to Toronto Blue Jays prospect Cavan Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, and walked Jordan Patterson and Reese McGuire in the top of the second inning. Hutchinson was able to escape the no-out, bases-loaded jam by striking out Gunnar Heidt and Andrew Guillotte.

In the bottom of the inning, Billy Burns roped a double to center field, scoring Ryan McBroom and Zack Zehner to give the RailRiders a 2-0 lead.

First baseman Gosuke Katoh hit his third Triple-A home run, a two-run shot off Bisons starter Jordan Romano. McBroom homered after Conor Fisk came in relief, giving the RailRiders a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Estrada blasted his first home run of the game, a 440-foot solo shot to left-center field. The homer marked Estrada’s first home run since Aug. 8, 2017, when he played for the Trenton Thunder.

Hutchinson’s solid outing came to an end after six innings of work. He didn’t give up a run despite allowing two hits and walking four batters. He struck out eight batters.

Bisons shortstop Bo Bichette hit an opposite field two-run home run, his first in Triple-A, off reliever Davis Sosebee to cut the RailRiders lead 6-3 in the top of the seventh inning.

After two runs scratched across in the bottom of the inning, Thairo Estrada roped a two-run homer over the right field fence to extend the RailRiders lead to 10-3.

Rex Brothers pitched a clean eighth inning before J.P. Feyereisen took over in the ninth.

Bichette added an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning, but Feyereisen was able to shut the door and seal the RailRiders 10-4 victory.

The RailRiders complete their four game series with the Bisons at PNC Field with a 1:05 p.m. contest. The RailRiders send out southpaw Gio Gonzalez (1-1, 7.30 ERA) to face Bisons right-hander David Paulino (0-0, 2.45 ERA).
