The District 2 Class 3A softball championship game between Wyoming Seminary and Mid Valley was postponed Thursday due to rain.

The game will be played at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Pittston Area Primary Center in Hughestown. It will be part of a doubleheader with the D2-6A title game between Hazleton Area and Delaware Valley being played at 2 p.m.

Heavy rain hit the area about 90 minutes before the start of the game. Neither team was present at the field.

There are two other district championship games still scheduled Thursday at the University of Scranton. In Class 4A, Scranton Prep is scheduled to play Honesdale followed by a 6:30 p.m. game between Pittston Area and Abington Heights for the D2-5A championship.

Two district championship games were completed Thursday. In Class A, Old Forge defeated Blue Ridge 12-7. In Class 2A, Holy Cross defeated Northwest 10-2.
