Chase Montigney had three hits and four RBI as Greater Pittston defeated Plains 7-2 Monday in a District 16 Major Baseball pool-play game at the Mountain Top Little League.

Brandon Wardecki added a triple and Dominic Innamorati had two hits for Greater Pittston. Silivo Guardina was the winning pitcher.

Phil Allabaugh and Joe Egidio each had a hit for Plains. Allabaugh had two RBI.

Mountain Top 6, Nanticoke 5

Chris Litchkofski tripled and Colin Lazo doubled as Mountain Top edged Nanticoke.

Caleb McManus, Dylan Weikel and Nick Webb each added a single for Mountain Top.

Derek Shemanski and Adam Shotwell each had two hits for Nanticoke. RJ Brogan tripled.

DISTRICT 31

MAJOR BASEBALL

Kingston/Forty Fort 11, Northwest 1

Jacob Stephens and Antek Evan combined to strike out nine as KFF won in four innings.

Stephens also homered and finished with three hits. Nino Capozucca and Gunner Giza added two hits apiece.

Cody Wilson and Jace McCoy each had a hit for Northwest.

DISTRICT 31

8-10 SOFTBALL

Northwest 11, KFF 0

Addisyn Diltz struck out eight and was 2-for-3 at the plate for Northwest.

Natalia Ninotti was 3-for-3 and Abigail Miller was 2-for-2.

DISTRICT 16

8-10 SOFTBALL

Pittston 9, Plains 3

Liliana Hintze struck out 11 and allowed two hits in pitching a complete game for Pittston.

Hintze also had three hits and an RBI and scored three times. Jillian Haas had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Julianna Cocco had two hits and an RBI.

Jianna Giamboni and Grace Simko each had a hit for Plains. Omaryze Contreres scored twice.

AMERICAN LEGION

Hazleton 5, Plains/W-B 2

Corey Zientek was 3-for-3 with a homer, triple and three RBI to pace Hazleton. John Pozniak threw a complete game, striking out six and allowing five hits.

Carl Yastremski was 2-f0r-3 for Plains/Wilkes-Barre.
