Nick Cerasaro stole four bases to go with a hit and two runs scored as Pittston Area earned a 9-4 win over Abington on Tuesday in the Section 5 Little League junior baseball tournament in Dunmore.
Jack Long picked up the win on the mound and added a double and two runs at the plate. Vinny Bonomo and Ethan Clarke both finished with a hit, a run, a stolen base and an RBI.
Reece Vida and Connor Abel each finished with a hit and a run for Abington.
Pittston Area advanced to a winner’s bracket game at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Schautz Stadium.
SECTION 5 8-10 BASEBALL
Back Mountain National 10, Green Ridge 6
Kevin Osipower and Chris Flanagan had two hits apiece to power National’s victory over tournament host Green Ridge.
Chase Aten, Pat Flanagan, Brady Ecenrode and Owen Wielgosz all added a hit in the victory. Wielgosz picked up the win on the mound.
