Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference officials will meet Monday concerning football schedule switches that would allow Southern Columbia to play Wyoming Area and Shikellamy to play Holy Redeemer next Friday.

The meeting is scheduled after Shikellamy (1-5) filed a request Friday to drop perennial state power Southern Columbia and instead play Redeemer (0-5). Southern Columbia would then play at Wyoming Area (6-0) in a matchup of state-ranked teams. Southern Columbia is ranked first in Class 2A and Wyoming Area is ranked fourth in Class 3A by pennlive.com.

The PHAC turned down the same request from Southern Columbia on Wednesday. PHAC bylaws prohibit dropping conference opponents to schedule non-conference opponents, although Southern Columbia’s football team has been allowed to do so twice this season.
