Danny McGinley scored the game-winning goal in the 57th off an assist from Jeffrey Eager-Heffner as Wilkes defeated FDU-Florham 2-1 in MAC men’s soccer Saturday.

McGinley assisted Gabriel Nieves with the Colonels’ first goal in the 21st minute.

Misericordia 0, Stevens 0 OT

Misericordia opened its MAC Freedom schedule with a double-overtime tie with Stevens.

Dominic Pizzi made eight saves in goal for the Cougars.

Emily Bidelspach scored twice for Wilkes while Hannah Hart also found the net for the Colonels.

Eastern 1, King’s 0

Nicole Weenink scored the lone goal of the match in the 83rd minute to give the Eastern a victory over King’s.

King’s 1, Misericordia 0 OT

Lauren Rowski scored the game-winner for King’s 4:05 into overtime with an assist from Hanna Robbins.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

King’s sweeps tri-match

King’s used a balanced attack to a tri-match sweep over the host Utica and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

The Monarchs defeated Utica 25-9, 25-20, 25-20. Marta Pawka led the offense for King’s with seven kills, and Olivia Bunch, Cleo Schultz and Christie Brown totaled six kills a piece.

King’s then defeated MCLA 25-16, 25-12, 25-11. Pawka led King’s with a match-high nine kills. Schultz added six kills.

Wilkes falls in two matches

Wilkes dropped a pair of matches at Widener.

Neumann downed Wilkes 27-25, 25-11, 25-15. Jamey Mikovich led six Colonels with at least two kills, finishing with six kills, two solo blocks and 11 digs.

Widener sweep Wilkes 25-18, 25-19, 25-14. Mikovich finished with a match-high 11 kills and seven digs.

MEN’S TENNIS

Wilkes finishes regionals

Wilkes completed action at the ITA Southeast Regional with three matches.

The team of Jack Maline and Larry Scartz competed in the semifinals of the B2 doubles bracket, falling 8-0.

In other doubles action, Colin Greenman and Jolen Nortey dropped their B2 doubles consolation quarterfinal match 8-2.

Chris Maderitz lost 6-1, 6-1 in the championship Singles consolation round of 32.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Visaggio paces Misericordia

Olivia Visaggio finished third overall to lead Misericordia at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational.

Visaggio ran 22:14 to help the Cougars to a 12th-place finish in the 44-team field. Rowan Pepe was 33rd and Alexa Thompson finished 80th.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Misericordia placed 13th

Misericordia finished 13th of 40 teams at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational.

Zach Davis ran 26:17 to finish 30th and lead the Cougars. Stephen Kober was 40th.

Wilkes finished 31st

Nine members of the Wilkes team set personal-best 8k times at the Lehigh Paul Short Run. The Colonels placed 31st of 40 teams.

Noah Molina paced the Colonels by placing 173rd out of 326 runners with a time of 28:20.2. John Zick set his career-best time with a 28:47.4 to place in 186th.

Wilkes runners set marks

All 10 members of the Wilkes team set personal-best 6k times at the Lehigh Paul Short Run.

Freshman Mia Hensil paced the Colonels in the race, placing in 155th out of 373 runners.
