The Wilkes-Barre Area boys soccer team shutout Berwick 6-0 on Thursday.

The Wolfpack had six different goal scorers. Tanner Nilon, Saquon Portee, David Sikora, Logan Davison, Dante Vitali and Joel Vazquez.

Vazquez and Nick Wartella combined to make four saves for the shutout.

Dallas 9, Pittston Area 2

The Mountaineers topped Pittston Area behind eight goals from Zach Holthaus.

TJ Herron was the other goal scorer for Dallas. Jake Hockenberry added three assists.

Jacob Black and David Butler scored for the Patriots.

Lake-Lehman 6, MMI Prep 0

The Black Knights scored three goals in each half en route to defeating MMI Prep.

Max Paczewski and Ryan Hunt each scored two goals and Ayden Carey scored one. Paczewski and Kyle Sincavage each had an assist while Cole Kaiser had two.

GIRLS SOCCER

Holy Redeemer 8, Pittston Area 1

The Royals cruised past Pittston Area with five goals in the first half.

Kasey Danko scored five goals for Holy Redeemer, her fifth was her 100th career goal. Carly Cavanaugh, Kalie Quaglia and Amelia Banks also scored goals.

Jordan McGoff scored the only goal for the Patriots.

FIELD HOCKEY

Wilkes-Barre Area 12, Tunkhannock 0

Abie Sorokas scored five first-half goals as Wilkes-Barre Area celebrated its first Senior Night.

Jolene Ulichney added three goals and two assists, all while helping the Wolfpack to a 9-0 halftime lead.

Wyoming Valley West 4, Holy Redeemer 0

The Spartans defeated Holy Redeemer with three goals in the second half.

Camryn Forgash, Rina Tsioles and Paige Williams each scored for Wyoming Valley West. Williams scored twice. Ariane Rupnik had three assists.

Hazleton Area 4, Stroudsburg 1

Hazleton Area topped Stroudsburg on the road with three second half goals.

Jill Kringe scored twice and Jill Buchman and Gabby Cavenas each scored once for the Cougars. Lauren Youngken, Cavenas and Buchman each had assists for the Cougars as well.

Northwest 9, Benton 0

The Rangers scored seven goals in the first half, five from Milana Straub as they defeated Benton.

Sydney Franchella added three goals and Jess Dzoch scored once.

Benton did not record a shot in the game.

Berwick 2, Hanover Area 0

Berwick scored both its goals in the first half, less than two minutes apart. Maddy Isenberg and Peyton Lipsey scored the goals and Sydney Kimbell and Lexie Nevel had the assists.

Jackie Nevel made eight saves to earn the shutout for the Bulldogs.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Lake-Lehman 3, MMI Prep 0

Lake-Lehman defeated the Preppers in three sets, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-23.

Kim Amentler led the Preppers with eight kills, four digs, one ace and 14 service points.

Tunkhannock 3, Hanover Area 0

The Tigers topped Hanover Area in three sets, 25-11, 25-18 and 25-19.

Emily Schultz had six aces, two kills, one assist, two digs and 16 service points. Lily Miller added five aces, four kills, eight digs and 14 service points.

Berwick 3, Wyoming Valley West 0

Berwick topped the Spartans in three sets, 25-2, 25-13 and 25-13.

Camille Pinterich led the Bulldogs with four aces, 23 service points, one assist and two digs. Karley Hower added three aces, 13 service points, seven assists and four digs.

Pittston Area 3, Hazleton Area 0

The Patriots swept Hazleton Area, 25-16, 25-7 and 25-12.

Emilee Shaw led Pittston Area with five aces, three digs and 14 service points. Michalie Mazurkivich added 11 kills, five digs and three blocks.

The Monarchs shutout DeSales to improve to 2-1-0 in MAC Freedom play.

Fabio Massa and Aidan Oyler each picked up three points to lead King’s.

The Monarchs played well on defense, not allowing a shot until the 73rd minute.
