It looks like Penn State won’t be playing football this fall.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the Big Ten Conference has voted to cancel the 2020 football season due to the coronavirus pandemic. An official announcement is expected Tuesday.

The Detroit Free Press, citing anonymous sources, reported that the Big Ten presidents voted 12-2 to end fall sports. Only Nebraska and Iowa voted to play sports.

Penn State was scheduled to open the season Sept. 5 against Northwestern at Beaver Stadium. The university announced last week that the season would begin without fans in attendance at games.
