Wyoming Seminary defeated Crestwood on the road Wednesday, earning a 3-0 win on Wednesday in Wyoming Valley Conference field hockey play.

Anna Mozeleski started the scoring with a second quarter goal. Emma Watchilla picked up an assist on the goal. Before the end of the frame, Ella Barbacci picked up her first goal of the game.

Wit five minutes left in the third quarter, Barbacci scored her second goal on a fee from Grace Parsons to put the Blue Knights up 3-0.

Mia Magnotta picked up the shutout for Wyoming Seminary, making four saves.

Wyoming Valley West 5, Delaware Valley 1

Paige Williams scored a pair of goals, Georgia Tsioles and Jill Bonceweiski each had a goal and an assist, Cameryn Forgash had three assists and Marissa Mooney scored a goal for the Spartans.

Wyoming Area 7, Hazleton Area 0

Wyoming Area rolled past Hazleton Area on the road behind four first-half goals.

Antonia Minichello led the way with five goals for the Warriors. Bianca Pizano and Kayla Kiwak each had a goal and two assists as well.

Northwest 3, Muncy 0

The Rangers shut out Muncy at home behind a balanced offense and defensive attack.

Milana Straub, Lillie Spencer and Lauren Okuniewski all scored for the Rangers.

Wyoming Seminary 6, Nanticoke Area 0

Luke Johns and Thomas Iskra had great games to lead Wyoming Seminary past the Trojans.

Johns had four goals to lead the way for the Blue Knights and Iskra picked up a goal and three assists. Ryan Chun added two assists and Copper Wood had a goal.

Hazleton Area 5, Pittston Area 2

Kayla Demshock led the way with a pair of goals and both Hailey Kaschak and Camila Arias each had a goal and an assist for the Cougars.

Mia Snyder scored both goals for the Patriots.

GIRLS TENNIS

Berwick 5, Crestwood 0

Genevieve Johnson. Gianna Miller and Milanna Reader handled the singles matches for Berwick and Elle Kozak/Issa Segura and Gabby Segura/Piper Mensinger won the doubles matches.

Hazleton Area 5, Wyoming Area 0

The Cougars won at singles with Alyssa Mazurek and Maddie Terraccino picking up wins and Anjolina Hsiao winning by forfeit.

The duos of Sydney Shoemaker/Jasmine VanCamp and Jenna Harmonsky/Emily Prokovich each won doubles matches as well.

Hazleton Area 173, Wyoming Valley West 183

Jacob Palermo led Hazleton Area to victory at Irem Country Club and was the medalist by shooting a 40.

The Cougars used good performances behind Palermo to win with both Joe Rebarchick and Jonathan Joseph shooting a 44 and Matt Singley added. 45.

Luke Bowen the Spartans with a 43, followed by Liam Frace with a 44 and Mike Koval and Gabe Brunn with a 47 and 49.

MMI Prep 174, Wyoming Area 192

The Preppers defeated Wyoming Area at Valley Country Club.

Christian Homnack was the medalist, shooting a 39 for MMI Prep. He was followed by Thomas Mayernick’s 41, Noah Long’s 45 and Kade Lutz’s 49.

J.T. Gober led the Warriors with a 40. After Gober, they were led by Matt Sorick’s 43, Brady Noone with a 54 and Dane Schutter with a 55.

Crestwood 166, Berwick 195

The Comets topped Berwick at Berwick Country Club behind another great performance form Owen Blazick, who was the match’s medalist with a 36.

After Blazick, Crestwood was led by Derek Johnson with a 41, Nathan Thomas with a 44 and Isaac Saullo with a 45.

Brendan Turowski and Sam Kaleta led the Bulldogs with 46 each, followed by Sean Murphy and Jason Whitebread with a 48 and 55.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Nanticoke Area 3, Delaware Valley 1

Nanticoke Area needed just four sets to defeat Delaware Valley 25-23, 16-25, 25-19, 25-16.

Brooklyn Biehl led the way for the Trojans with five kills, 25 assists, three blocks and five digs. Myla Vnuk added three aces, 16 kills, one assist and three blocks while Abby Cullen had three aces, eight kills, one assist and one dig.

Hazleton Area 3, Wilkes-Barre Area 1

The Cougars defeated Wilkes-Barre Area in four sets 25-20, 25-27, 25-17, 25-20.

Brooke Boretski led the Cougars with three kills, 16 service points, eight aces, five digs and 12 assists. Layla Buglio added two kills, two blocks, 13 service points, seven aces, seven digs and two assists.

Ar’Lasja Hayes led the Wolfpack with seven kills and three aces while Brooke Fisher had 11 assists and two aces.

Crestwood 3, Pittston Area 1

Crestwood topped the Patriots 25-18, 16-25, 25-21, 25-9.

Ava Butcher led the Comets with 13 service points, five kills and six digs. Jiana Moran added eight kills and seven digs. Emilee Shaw also had 11 service points, six aces and five kills.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Lake-Lehman tops cluster

The Black Knights came away from a meet hosted by Wyoming Valley West by topping every team in the field.

Tavian McKenna from Wyoming Valley West was the top runner finishing at 16:19. He was followed by for Lake-Lehman runners. Chandler Longstreth had a 16:33, Nick Hackenbury had a 17:01 and Will McCarroll had a 17:36.

Pittston Area’s Preston Kiem came in fifth with a 17:58.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Tigers, Patriots on top

Tunkhannock topped all teams at the meet hosted by Wyoming Valley West with consistent finishes in the middle of the pack. Pittston Area also looked good, finishing behind the Tigers.

Molly Fetchko led the pack with a 22:31 for the Patriots. Wilkes-Barre Area’s Catherine Shuleski and Elle Shuleski finished in second and third with a 22:49 and 23:40. Lia Keefe from Lake-Lehman finished in fourth with a 23:41 and Sara Good from Wyoming Valley West had a 23:52.
