Once again, Nassir Jones came up big to keep Williamsport undefeated.

Jones continued to star on both sides of the ball for the Millionaires, opening the scoring with a touchdown catch and then forcing a fumble with a sack to set up another score in a 26-7 win over Berwick on Friday at STA Stadium.

Those impact plays helped the Millionaires win despite being outgained 256-210.

Holding a three-point lead in the second quarter, Jones’ strip sack gave Williamsport the ball in Berwick territory. The ensuing score put the Millionaires up 16-7 at the break, and they blanked the Dawgs the rest of the way.

An early lead for the Millionaires (3-0) was cut to 10-7 when Berwick standout Mason Laubach burst 47 yards for a touchdown on fourth down.

Jones’ defensive play nabbed the momentum back for the home team as Williamsport scored less than a minute later on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Frankie Morrone to Cam Sims.

That duo wasn’t done yet as Morrone connected with Sims for a 19-yard touchdown that made it 23-7.

Morrone and Jones got things started in the first quarter as the big tight end hauled in a 6-yard touchdown. He contributed to another score with a fourth-down catch that set up a 27-yard field goal by Elliott Wannop for a 10-0 lead.

Wannop closed out the scoring with a 30-yard field goal in the final minute of play.

Morrone finished 10-for-16 for 111 yards and three scores through the air. Shawn Sheptock ran for 78 yards for the Dawgs.

According to the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, Laubach was ejected in the third quarter after picking up his second unsportsmanlike conduct flag. Berwick’s Peyton Williams was also tossed from the game.
