ASTON — Six Marywood University student-athletes claimed Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) awards for the week ending April 5. Softball swept both of the top CSAC awards with Brooke Labs named as Hitter of the Week and Alyssa Bavaro tabbed Pitcher of the Week. Joseph DiLoreto was named the CSAC’s Pitcher of the Week in baseball.
Three Pacers received CSAC Honorable Mention status. Brandon Terlizzi and Abington Heights graduate Mark Van Nort received laurels in men’s lacrosse and men’s tennis, respectively. Holy Cross graduate Vincent Rebar was named to the CSAC Baseball Honorable Mention as a hitter.
DiLoreto picked up a save against Keystone College to complete the Pacers’ sweep of the Giants, the first doubleheader sweep of Keystone in CSAC history. He followed up that performance with a complete-game win over Centenary. In his three appearances, DiLoreto struck out 11 batters and walked just two while limiting opponents to a .273 batting average in over 8.1 innings of work.
Labs went 6-for-6 at the plate with two doubles, two RBIs and six runs scored to lead Marywood to a pair of wins over Notre Dame April 2. She added one putout and five assists in the field without committing an error.
Bavaro threw a one-hitter in a 16-0 win over Notre Dame on April 2. She struck out three and picked up the complete game win as the Pacers moved to 3-1 in league play.
Terlizzi scored the game-winning goal with 11 seconds remaining in double overtime to lift Marywood to a 9-8 victory over Susquehanna. Terlizzi sent the game into overtime with an unassisted goal with 2:17 remaining in regulation.
Rebar led the Pacers in CSAC play with a .450 batting average that included 7 RBIs, a double and a triple. Rebar recorded two stolen bases and had a .600 slugging percentage and .522 on-base percentage. He also has nine putouts, 11 assists and no errors in the field at second base
Van Nort earned a pair of victories for the Pacers in their 7-2 win over Keystone College in CSAC action with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles. Van Nort and partner Daniel Tintle scored an 8-1 decision over Michael Hull and Brian Toda at #1 doubles, while Van Nort bested Hull, 6-3, 6-1 at the top singles flight.
