Tunkhannock grad Mike Papi was promoted to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. This is his second stint with the Clippers this season.

Papi registered four hits in his first three games with Columbus. He was 2 for 4 with two runs scored on Thursday.

The former Tigers star is sporting a four-game win streak heading into Saturday’s game against Indianapolis.

Matt Wotherspoon

The Crestwood grad was impressive once again for Triple-A Norfolk, picking up the win on Friday.

He pitched two innings of shutout baseball in relief against the Durham Bulls. He gave up just three hits and struck out a pair.

Wotherspoon hasn’t allowed a run in his last five appearances, dating back to Aug. 8.

Sal Biasi

The Hazleton Area product pitched five innings of one-run baseball for Rookie-level Burlington on Thursday.

Biasi allowed the one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six.

In his last 10 games, Biasi has registered a 2-2 record and 2.89 ERA.

Jhordany Mezquita

The former Hazleton Area student continues to impress for the Gulf Coast League Phillies.

The 19-year-old lefty pitched six innings of four-hit baseball to register his second win of his professional career on Tuesday. With the six-inning shutout, he dropped his ERA to 0.83.

Six innings pitched was a career-high.

Tony Hernandez

The Hazleton Area grad pitched six innings of three-run baseball to take the loss on Friday for the GCL Yankees East.

Hernandez has a 2-5 record and 3.88 ERA in his last 10 outings.
