The newly promoted Domingo Acevedo shined in his Triple-A debut on Friday.

The 23-year-old allowed just three hits over seven innings as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders topped the Buffalo Bisons 8-1. Acevedo allowed one run while striking out four and walking five to get the win.

New York Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres continued his hot streak, hitting a double and a pair of singles.

The RailRiders got on the board first in the third inning when Dustin Fowler hit a two-run double and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Ji-Man Choi.

After Scranton/Wilkes-Barre added a run in the fourth, on a double by Tyler Wade, the Bisons cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Gregorio Petit hit an RBI single, scoring Ian Parmley. The RailRiders later scored four runs in the seventh to punctuate the blowout.

Luis Santos (2-6) went five innings, allowing four runs and five hits. He also struck out 10 and walked three.

Williams, Higashioka promoted

With Yankees Aaron Hicks and Gary Sanchez going down to injury Thursday night, Mason Williams and Kyle Higashioka were promoted on Friday. Williams got the start in center to make his first start in pinstripes since Sept. 30, 2016.

Both Williams and Higashioka have been hot at the plate as of late.

Williams is sporting an eight-game hitting streak with a .290 batting average two doubles, a triple two runs scored and 4 RBI during that time. Higashioka went 3 for 3 with a home run and a walk on Wednesday.

“We’re not going to be as successful as you want day in and day out, but I’m trying to be as consistent as possible,” Williams said on Wednesday. “I guess I’m starting to turn it up now and I just want to keep it going.”
