The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders announced their promotional schedule Monday morning.
The RailRiders’ 2018 season will include 12 fireworks nights, seven bobblehead giveaways, which is a franchise record, and 13 additional giveaways.
“We are excited about promotions for the 2018 season,” RailRiders president and COO Josh Olerud said, via a press release. “We spend time every offseason trying to build the best promotional schedule that pays tribute to our heritage, pop culture and what our fans want to see. I think everyone through the gates at PNC Field this season will enjoy this schedule.”
Fireworks are scheduled for opening night, on April 6, June 6, 29 and 30, July 4, 13, 14 and 27, Aug. 3, 17 and 31 and Sept. 1.
Headlining this season’s set of bobbleheads are a Star Wars-themed Chance Adams on May 4 and an Aaron Judge American League Rookie of the Year on May 26. Fans will also receive International League MVP-themed Shelley Duncan (June 29) and Shane Victorino (July 13) bobbleheads. Themed bobbleheads for ‘The Sandlot,’ ‘The Office,’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ round out the group.
Star Wars Night (May 4), Man vs. Marathon (July 12), Princess and Pirates Night (July 27) and Superhero Night (Aug. 17) are all scheduled to return. Some of the new themed nights this season include Caturday on May 12, which invites cats to PNC Field, Harry Potter Night (June 8), Backyard Baseball Tribute Night (June 9), Teddy Bear Toss (June 30), The Sandlot Night (July 28) and a tribute to ‘The Office’ on Sept. 1.
The RailRiders’ Legends Series is also returning, with appearances and dates to be announced at a later date.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is also following the same promotional schedule as last season, with Sundays as Family Fun Day, Mondays as Dollar Dog and Military Night, Tuesdays will feature $2 tickets and food and drink schedules, Wednesdays as Pay-It-Forward Night, Thirsty Thursdays and Glow-in-the-Park Fridays.
