WILKES-BARRE — One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing on Lehigh Street Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives and officers from Wilkes-Barre City were dispatched to the 200 block of Lehigh Street, between Meade Street and Sherman Street, for a reported stabbing around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police taped off two residences, at 279 Lehigh St. and a double-block home at 277-275 Lehigh St. while investigating. The incident is believed to have happened inside 279 Lehigh St.

One victim was transported for medical attention; detectives on scene told reporters that the victim’s wounds were considered to be non-life-threatening.
