Ramona Bevan, Hunlock Creek, has been selected CAREGiver of the Year by the Home Instead Senior Care office serving Luzerne County. She is being recognized for her commitment and service to area older adults, made even more significant by her personal battle as a cancer survivor. Her family and friends, along with Luzerne Mayor James Keller and Pennsylvania State Representative Aaron Kaufer will be in attendance at a celebration event at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at Home Instead Senior Care, 269 W. Bennett St., Luzerne.
Bevan has been in remission for eight years from breast cancer and seven years from ovarian cancer. She joined Home Instead Senior Care as a way to pay it forward to others who need the support that she received during her own fight for her life.
Home Instead CAREGivers provide a variety of services, including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, personal and Alzheimer’s care, incidental transportation, errands and shopping. Prior to being placed in a client’s home, CAREGivers are screened, trained, bonded and insured, and have completed criminal background checks.
