NANTICOKE: The Greater Nanticoke Area School District is conducting kindergarten registration for the 2015-2016 school term 9-11 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 7-9, at the K.M. Smith Elementary School in Sheatown.

The child must accompany the parents or guardians for screenings.

In order to be eligible for kindergarten for the 2015-2016 school term, a child must be five years old on or before Sept. 1. Parents must bring the child’s birth certificate, two proofs of residency and current health and immunization records. If there are legal documents, such as custody or foster care papers, they must also be provided. If an Access card applies to the child, it should be brought with the other necessary information. The parent/guardian must also provide a picture identification the day of registration.

Registration for new first-grade students will also be accepted at this time. In order to be eligible for first grade in the fall, a child must be six years of age on or before Sept. 1. Parents must provide the same information as listed above.

Registration packets will be available in the principal’s office at K.M. Smith Elementary School between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Necessary papers that must be copied can be brought at this time.
