Ted Horn of White Haven captured this unique shot of a mature bald eagle passing overhead in Shohola on Feb. 27. The deep, blue sky provides a perfect contrast to the crisp black and white of the eagle.
The view while looking up at the majestic bird makes for an even more impressive photo. Horn definitely captured the beauty of our nation’s symbol, one that has become more common in recent years thanks to conservation efforts that have allowed eagle numbers to grow.
