The town crier says: Listen up, concerned citizens of Luzerne County. The pipelines are coming. The pipelines are coming … soon. All six or seven of them!
They will cut through forests, farm lands and yards at widths of 100 to 125 feet, and depths of 6 to 7 feet, with 30- to 42-inch diameter pipes, for miles and miles. The trees will never return.
The hazard or blast zone is 800 to 1,100 feet and each side of the pipeline affected. Property owners in the blast area have not been notified. There are leaks and accidents – admitted even by the pipeline companies. A blast will not only rattle your home, it will melt it.
Pipeline companies do not pay property taxes or rental fees and are not responsible for much of anything. We landowners are responsible yet are receiving no benefits.
Don’t wait until the canary can no longer chirp in the coal mine. Be aware. Be informed.
