In a recent article regarding the veto of the Keystone XL oil pipeline bill that was passed by Congress, President Barack Obama stated: “The presidential power to veto legislation is one that I take seriously. But I also take seriously my responsibility to the American people.”

However, Obama is clearly lying when he says he’s being responsible to the American people by vetoing this pipeline, because the most recent polls show the majority of Americans are in favor of the pipeline, and the State Department already stated the pipeline will not have a negative impact.

Unfortunately, with Congress unable to override Obama’s veto, tens of thousands of jobs will be lost and our country’s ability to achieve energy independence will be greatly diminished.
