Brader

WILKES-BARRE — Nominations for the Rose Brader Community Service Award are now being accepted by the United Way of Wyoming Valley.

The winner will join 30 other recipients who have received the annual award designed to recognize an adult volunteer over the age of 18 who has performed volunteer work within the Wyoming Valley to benefit an individual, group or special cause within at least the last ten years.

It reflects and continues the spirit of Rosalie Brader, a 31-year employee with the United Way, who worked tirelessly to benefit the community in which she lived. She volunteered her time and effort to a variety of health and human service organizations throughout the area.

The award recipient will be honored at United Way’s Operation Dream: A Day of Caring Breakfast and Awards Event, scheduled for May 14.

“If you grew up in this area, you know that the name ‘Rose Brader’ is synonymous with service, volunteerism, and caring about community.” said Bill Jones, President and CEO of United Way of Wyoming Valley.

“She was part of the United Way for 31 years, and during that time many individuals and organizations benefited from her spirit and dedication. We know there are people all across the Wyoming Valley who share that spirit of helping others, and it’s our privilege to recognize them in her name.”
