DALLAS: The Ladies Auxiliary of Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672 is accepting applications for the Keystone Girls State program to be held June 21-27 at Shippensburg University. The program is available to female students in grade 11 in the Back Mountain area who are interested in government and current issues. The successful candidate will represent her school, community and the Dallas American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. College credit available at a discounted rate. Applications are available through high school Guidance Departments, the Dallas Legion at 730 Memorial Highway, or Denise DeLuca, chairperson, at 570-239-4896.
HAZLETON: Immanuel Christian School, 725 N. Locust St., is holding its annual open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10. Parents and students will have the opportunity to tour the school, see classes in action, meet with the principal and ask questions about the enrollment process and financial aid. Lunch will be provided.

PLAINS TWP.: The Plains Parks and Recreation Board is accepting applications for its summer playground program. All applicants must be residents of Plains Township who are presently enrolled in college and are education majors. Applicants must be able to organize, instruct and supervise recreational, playground and arts and crafts activities for Plains Township children ages 5-12. Applications are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Plains Township Municipal Building, 126 N. Main Street. Deadline for applications is Friday, April 24.
The Plains Parks and Recreation Board is also accepting applications for summer employment. All applicants must be residents of Plains Township who are presently enrolled in college or graduating high school students who will be attending college in the fall of 2015. College applicants must submit proof of the college or university they are attending. Applications are available at the Plains Township Municipal Building. Deadline to submit applications is Friday, April 24.
