DUPONT: All members of American Legion Post 657 Dupont are requested to attend a meeting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the VFW Post 4909, 401-403 Main Street. This important meeting is regarding the revitalization of Joseph Motiska American Legion Post 657. The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers for Post 657. If no one agrees to run for the offices, the post will need to turn in its charter.

HUDSON: The Lani VFW Post 6325, 35-37 Cleveland St., will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10. All regular members are urged to attend. A Home Association meeting and social hour with food will follow.
The post is planning its annual Easter party for children ages newborn to 10 from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Deadline to register children at the post home is Friday, March 20. The party will include the Easter Bunny, candy, magic and balloon show at 3 p.m. and food and refreshments. The building will be smoke free during these festivities.
NANTICOKE: A Pennsylvania American Legion service officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, at the Nanticoke office of State Senator John Yudichak, 164 S. Market Street. Interested veterans and their spouses are asked to call 570-740-2434 to schedule an appointment.
The service officer will be able to help with information on government benefits, including veterans health care, compensation, pension, education and dependent benefits. Surviving spouses can also meet with the service officer to learn about their eligibility for veterans benefits.
NEWPORT TWP.: The American Legion Post 971 will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at the Glen Lyon American Legion Post 539, 62 Newport St., Glen Lyon. All members are urged to attend.
