The Imaging Services Department at Commonwealth Health Tyler Memorial Hospital recently presented a check for $415 to the Wyoming County Cancer Society. The funds were raised through the hospital’s annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser that included donations and proceeds from the sale of bracelets, key rings, ribbons, scarves and sugar cookies. Tyler employees also volunteered their time for the annual Mammothon, a Commonwealth Health effort held every October that encourages women to scheduled their mammograms. In one night, the Tyler team of seven volunteers called 381 patients and scheduled 124 mammograms. The mammography team performed 153 mammograms in October. The funds are used for education, research and patient outreach programs.
