The MATHCOUNTS team at Wyoming Seminary Lower School took first place in the Keystone Northeast Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School in Kingston. Led by captain Tanaya Kollipara, students Kyle Hromisin, Logan McGowan and Ethan Tost won first place in the challenging team competition. Tost also won first place in the individual competition and Hromisin received a ninth place award. All four students will move on to represent the Keystone Northeast Chapter in the state competition in Harrisburg on Saturday, March 28. Seminary middle-school mathematics teacher Barbara Bee coached this year’s team.
