In Genesis 1:27-28, God gave man his mandate for his existence. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, have domain over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
God made men and women physically diverse in order to carry out his purpose to procreate. One could not reproduce without the other. Consequently man would populate the earth and fulfill God’s purpose for creation.
Upon creating Eve, the first woman, God said in Genesis 2:24: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh.”
Thus, the marriage relationship became the first human institution.
The word of God proclaims that marriage is between a man and a women. In today’s politically correct atmosphere this truth is contrary to the secular world views on marriage. Situation ethics, relativism, pluralism, liberalism and an anything-goes philosophy – and not the word of God – have become society’s mantra for supporting diverse views pertaining to marriage.
Homosexual and lesbian marriages violate the law of God. Since 37 states now allow gay marriage, the authority of God’s word is being usurped by liberal judges and by the people that enter into gay marriage.
It doesn’t matter if one accepts or opposes gay marriage; what matters is that God is against same-sex marriage. There is no debating the word of God, for he has provided the definitive answer. God’s design for marriage and sex is beautiful. God gave men and women marriage and sex to procreate and enjoy the blessings of family life.
From the Babylonians, to the Persians, Greeks and Romans, moral and spiritual decay corrupted and brought down empires. Unfortunately, one of the main causes for the demise of these empires was homosexual and lesbian behavior being accepted by their cultures. Is America on the same path of decline and fall because of sexual immorality and refusal to adhere to God’s word?
