Two Wilkes wrestlers are still alive for national championship bids after Guesseppe Rea and Matthew Grossmann each won two matches on Friday at the NCAA Division III Championships in Hershey.

Rea, the fourth seed at 125 pounds, picked up two decisions on the day, edging Jakob Stageberg and Daniel Page 6-2 and 3-2, respectively, to reach the semifinals.

Fifth-seeded Grossman moved into the semis of the 133-pound bracket with a pair of pins, decking Jacob Spearman in 3:56 and Connor Campo in 6:02.

Both Rea and Grossman are guaranteed All-America status, giving the Colonels seven straight years with at least one All-American. They will each face the top seed in their brackets this morning as Rea takes on Mike Fuennffinger (Augsburg) and Grossman goes up against Nathan Giorgio (U.S. Coast Guard Academy).

Two other Wilkes wrestlers competed at NCAAs. Kyle Diesel (174) lost his opener and answered with a major decision before bowing out in his second consolation match. Josh Evans lost twice at 149.
