BETHLEHEM — Wyoming Seminary gave its best shot once again to Blair Academy.

This time though, the Blue Knights came up short of accomplishing the national title repeat.

Even though it crowned a tournament-high five national champions, Seminary lost to Blair by 13.5 points. The Blue Knights scored 269.5 points, while the Bucs chalked up 283.

Will Moss (106 pounds), Jack Mueller (120), Chris Weiler (160), Nick Reenan (170) and Mike Rogers (285) claimed national golds for the Blue Knights on Saturday at Lehigh University’s Stabler Arena. Those were the same five wrestlers that entered the tournament as No. 1 seeds. Reenan and Weiler improved on last year’s showing as silver medalists, while Rogers was fourth at last year’s event.

It’s the most national champions that the school has dressed in 67 years. The last time Seminary had that many champions was in 1948 when it had six champions

Seminary’s 126-pounder Trent Olson, who was national runner-up in 2014, repeated the same feat this weekend. Also earning All-American status for the Blue Knights were Will Verallis (fifth at 138), Danny Boychuck (sixth, 145), Jonathan Carrera (seventh, 152), Anthony Cable (fifth, 182), Zane Black (fourth, 195), Harrison Nye (sixth, 220).

Blair meanwhile, crowned four champions and 13 All-Americans.

In the only finals matchup between the two teams, Sem’s Weiler defeated Brandon Dallavia, 5-1.

Seminary defeated Blair last year for the national title and knocked off the team in a dual last month in Kingston.
