The Back Mountain Chamber, in conjunction with its members, local merchants, area schools, banks and more has launched a Spring Food Drive to benefit the Back Mountain Food Pantry.

The Chamber’s goal is to collect several tons of food for the community. All non-perishable items are being accepted. Monetary donations may be made payable to the Weinberg Food Bank and sent to the BMC at 1192 Twin Stacks Drive, Dallas, PA 18612. All monetary donations will be earmarked for the Back Mountain Food Pantry.

Sandy Race, chairperson of the Spring Food Drive, helped kick off the month-long food drive which will run through April 10. Containers may be found at the following locations:

Back Mountain Library, Christine Leandri Piano Studio, Dallas Schools, First Keystone Bank, Frontier, Grotto Pizza, Hilbert’s Equipment & Welding, Inc., Hillside Farms Dairy Store, Lake-Lehman Schools, Leggio’s Restaurant, Luzerne Bank, M&T Banks in Dallas & Shavertown, Misericordia University, North Branch Land Trust in Trucksville, Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Pulverman, Offset Paperback, Thomas’ Family Markets in Dallas and Shavertown, UPS Store
