April 2004

Lake-Lehman’s Julie Covert, Callie Carsman and Traci Ragukas each had a goal and an assist in the Black Knights’ girls soccer win over Wyoming Valley West.

Other goals came from Caroline Boris, Chrissy Kazmierski and Allison Culver. Melissa Strunk and Candice Gordon combined for eight saves in the win.

April 1994

Students of Barnes Northeast Kenpo Karate in Lehman competed in the Coal Kick-in Tournament in Tamaqua.

Larry Morris and Ryan McDade each earned second place trophies in their respective age groups for fighting, while Kim Sorber earned a second place trophy for forms. Earning runner-up plaques in forms were Steven Weber and Adam Morris. Brian Wright earned second place in fighting. McDade also earned fourth for forms.

April 1984

Behind a two-hit pitching performance from senior Jill Solinski and freshman Beth Finn, Lake-Lehman’s softball team took a 12-2 win over Hazleton.

Kim Fey, Cindy Slocum and Kelly Wandel each had three hits for the winners. Fey had a single, a double, drove in one run and scored twice to pace the Black Knights.

April 1974

Dallas wrestling coach Larry Schuler was named the 1974 winner of the Carl Hennebaul Coach of the Year Award, marking the second straight season a Dallas mentor earned the prize.

Dallas’ James Bamrick received the award in 1973. Schuler and the Mountaineers also earned the Sportsmanship Award, given by the Wyoming Valley Wrestling League officials.
